Olympus Tracker 8-16x25 Zoom Porro Prism Compact & Lightweight Binocular Review

Had the chance to own this pair of binoculars and I tell you the optics from Olympus is just plain amazing. It is light weight and compact perfect for those needs or trips that you don't need to lug extra weight around. The optics are awesome. Great for bird-watching or walks in the forest. They are clear both in daylight and low-light. At the lowest magnification (8x), the images are sharp and crisp. At the highest (16x), the images degrade a little bit because of shakiness which is expected once magnification is extended to its maximum. The weight is just right for handling a binocular of this size and compensating image shake. I own another comparable-sized binoculars which is a Barska Gladiator 9-27x25 and the Olympus Tracker just beats the Barska in clarity (although I also gave the Barska a 5-star due to its rubberized body and overall quality make). Olympus is a quality maker of everything related to optics and you will not be disappointed with this Binocular. Great quality, great optics.

I had a large digger anchor for five years, It never failed, I loved it, in fact three of my fishing buddies where so impressed with it, they bought there own. This spring I lost it fishing a river, so I replaced it with the size that is suggested for my boat, instead of the large model I'd had. The Fox Flux helmet has been around the mountain a few times. We almost see it as a stylish mullet; business up front, party in the back. It's a helmet that combines the freestyle shape with cross country ventilation, taking the best from both worlds into a unique skid lid that looks good on the trails, on the ramps, in the parking lot, even riding down the street. The freestyle shape is best seen from behind, where the helmet has a familiar curve in addition to extending lower than most cross country helmets. The XC heritage is best seen up front, with the visor and big air scoops work together to help channel air flow over the head. A first for helmets is the spoiler atop the rear of the lid. Inspired by motocross, it channels the discharge air flow to keep the helmet streamlined, which means fast. 20 vents let the air come and go as it pleases. The Fox Flux helmet also uses a Detox secondary retention system. Colors are Black/White, Matte Black, Military, and White. Sizes are Small/Medium or Large/X-Large.

Fox Racing Flux Helmet Matte Black, S/M Review

This is my 4th what I would consider "Medium/High-end" Mountain Bike Helmet. It is by far my favorite, probably its best quality is how much airflow this thing has, the gaps for the air to travel through are huge compared to other helmets I've owned so your head stays substantially cooler. This is a big plus especially when you live in the desert. The design is very eye catching, I opted for the "Black Camo" which is kind of reminiscent of the "Blue Tiger" from Modern Warfare.

The helmet also comes with another complete set of foam pads to replace the current ones when they are in need of a wash. The back adjuster piece is made of plastic/nylon and feels very sturdy and while it doesn't have a typical ratchet wheel style adjustment piece, it uses a method that requires both hands as you squeeze the helmet straps in the back to fit your head. To some this might be a con because you can't adjust it with one hand, while I suppose this isn't enough to dock a star it should be noted. The chin straps and the buckle itself are very comfy and feel very sturdy as well, it also has a little rubber band to tuck away excess strap.

The other thing to note is that the front bill is held on by two stubs on either side and will come off with relatively little force so if you run through some brush, it pays to check your helm to see if the bill is still there. While I haven't had to, you could probably apply some shoe glue or super glue to the studs where it sits if you wanted to make it more stable. Because of the rather flimsy bill and unorthodox tightening system, I ultimately decided to dock it one star.

I have yet to be in a real crash with this thing besides hitting a few branches so I can't really comment on the durability fully but you are suppose to replace your helm after a wreck involving your head anyways, but it has been smooth sailing so far.

In summary, if your looking for a good looking but functional helmet, I would very strongly recommend the flux

BLACKHAWK! Enhanced Battle Bag - Coyote Tan Review

The bag is great for being a configurable, PALLS/MOLLE webbing type of "tactical" bag. I ordered a variety of other smallish pouches to attach and it's a great system. I gave it only 3 stars for the reasons below:

One item regarding the design is that a large, zippered pouch exists on the interior wall that seems suitable for documents. But it's approx 3/16" too short! I can jam 8.5x11 docs in there but they crumple and become wavy-shaped due to lack of room. And it's a struggle to get them in. I put a hard folder there hoping to make to make it easy to slide softer printouts from my computer in/out, thinking it would stretch/push the opening larger, but to no avail. I can get papers in but only at an angle, turn them, and at risk of tearing. Huge disappointment since there is no external flat pocket. So unless my bag was defective (does not appear to be), this is a rather large flaw in my opinion.

The only way you can use the bag for going to-and-from the office as an EDC is to settle on having a folder/pocket that you place in the larger center opening (where you place your computer).

Regarding computer sizes, a 14 inch IBM ThinkPad with regular battery will not fit. But smaller ones will. Holding a measuring tape over the opening shows about 13 inches to be the max width without using a shoehorn to get a laptop in/out. I won't subtract points for zero padding since it's not primarily an office bag, but why not stitch in a small amount at the bottom and make that large pocket a tiny bit bigger to carry docs?

It's very well made. For a person toting around a very small notebook [or tablet computer] wrapped in a neoprene computer bag, they could probably stuff that into the zippered side pocket I mention and be extremely happy with it so long as they have a nice folder for any docs - or no need for transporting any documents.

I plan to keep the bag because my notebook computer fits and I can live with a folder pouch in the middle.

You will have to look at your needs to see if it's right for you.
