I now own three of these coolers, one by my chair in the living room, another by my computer where I spend a lot of time, and the last on my bed side table. I use these to keep "Iced Tea" cold enough to be a satisfying drink with out being watered down because of melting ice. A 32 ounce water drinking bottle made of stainless steel work fantastic, (Cool Gear 32 Oz Stainless Steel Water Bottle - Waterville - Ez-freeze - BPA Free - Flip Top - Straw, also sold by Amazon) like the water drink bottles they use for bike riders. Be sure to use metal ones, the plastic bottles don't work as well since the plastic does not conduct the coolness as well. These coolers will also keep hot drinks warm the same way if that is your pleasure, they will cool down to 40 degrees, and warm to about 120 degrees. There are other coolers out there but I was very disappointed in their performance compared to this "KOOLATRON" model, and sent them back to be replaced with what has a proven record with me ! ! They do have a small fan but it is pretty quiet when it runs. An additional bit of information they also come with a car cord and work well in a vehicle or RV on 12 volt systems.
