Product Description
If concealability is paramount in your search for a new holster, the horsehide U.D.C. is a perfect choice. For the utmost in concealability, our U.D.C. (Ultra Deep Cover) holster features Galco's patented Generation III tuckable J-Hook. Galco first used the J-Hook design in the late 70's, but we always strive for improvement. Now, our Third Generation J-Hook continues to provide the ultimate in concealment. The Generation III J-Hook’s streamlined design hooks over your pants and behind your belt, hooking upward and only showing a small piece at the bottom. A tucked-in shirt will completely conceal your firearm. The U.D.C. is made with the rough leather side out, providing excellent stability. The smooth leather interior offers a faster, easier draw, and the sewn-in leather sight rails protect both holster and the firearm’s sights. The reinforced holster mouth allows easy one-handed return to the holster. Made for semiautomatic pistols and double-action revolvers, the U.D.C. is available in right or left hand designs in natural finish, and fits 1 1/4" belts. Patent# 6763984
Galco UDC Ultra Deep Cover Holster for Glock 26, 27, 33 (Natural, Right-hand) Review
I have purchased 2 Galco holsters. A standard leather IWB for a Glock 23, and this. They both fit very well and are very comfortable for extended periods of time. The standard Glock 23 holster does not hold its shape if the pistol is not in it and will actually lay completely flat except for the plastic belt clip. This makes the overall width of the holster when worn thinner than the UDC. Nearly a quarter of an inch thinner. This difference is noticeable if your are wearing thin clothing such as a t-shirt and cargo shorts. In my opinion if I am drawing my pistol from its holster I am either defending my life or practicing my draw, in either situation i don't mind the extra second it takes to re-holster with the standard IWB. The UDC rides lower on your waist and does not expose as much grip above the belt as the other. It conceals very well under a button-down shirt that has been tucked-in and slightly billowed. Both holster are completely interchangeable with both the Glock 26 and Glock 23. The UDC requires a 1 3/8" belt while the standard IWB can support a 1 3/4" belt.
In my conclusion i find that both holsters are VERY well made and could last a life time with proper care. They are both great IWB holsters for everyday use. For my more casual style of dress i prefer the standard IWB that prints less on your profile. But if I wore a suit every day or
