These binoculars have clear bright optics. They are perfect size for hunting and are very well made. They have excellent low light characteristics. Brunton makes fine quality optics. The rubber armor allows for quiet carrying, sure grip, and shock protection. AFTER 6 MONTHS: I lost these binoculars while hunting in April 2012. I wrote them off as gone forever. While hunting in September 2012, I found them! They were dirty, and some of the rubber coating was starting to crack, but after 6 months in some very harsh conditions (snow, sleet, rain, extreme heat) they were still functional, and had clear images! I wrote to Brunton and explained the situation, and hopefully they will send me new rubber eye pieces, That's all that was wrong with them, purely cosmetic. What a great product.
