I work from home as an editor of American historical fiction. A lot of that fiction having its setting in the old west. Years ago I redesigned and decorated the study where I work in a western theme. I was doing all right for myself when it came to locating statues, artwork, western books, and even an old time horse whip for a decent price. But I definitely hit a road block when it came time that I wanted to include a couple of six guns, double barrel shotgun, and some other western replicas on the walls. Looking up replicas on the web found plenty of places that carry them, (sometimes called movie or prop guns), but I also found that they are almost as expensive as buying the real things. I was quite simply shocked at what western stores online demand for replicas of handguns, and rifles. I ended up buying two of these Colt 45 peacemakers from the cheapest site I could locate online. And spending over $100 for each of them. I never thought of checking here on Amazon, figuring it was a specialty item. Now I wish I had...

I ended up looking up this very pistol offered and found that what I own is the exact same thing. Model, finish, size, the whole works. The only difference is that if I had bought it here rather than at the western store online, I would have ended up saving over $50 on the two guns. Not to mention what I could have saved on the rifle and other pistols I ended up buying at another place as well. This particular Peacemaker replica is exceptionally well made, heavy, handsomely finished, and above all, safe and harmless. There is no operable firing pin, and there is a small metal chock welded inside the barrel that prevents it from shooting anything in any event. Other than the non firing features, it looks and feels exactly like a real Colt 45. I display mine with a gun belt in a case, and I am forever asked if they, along with my other replicas are real. You would be amazed at how many people have never seen a genuine replica firearm. Believe it or not, many folks aren't even aware that replicas that look so real that are not toys are even manufactured. They all look very handsome, as well as appear to be genuine old west shootin' irons on a wall, bookcase, or anywhere else you may want to display them. I plan on buying more replicas in the near future from Amazon.

If you are someone that enjoys displaying western guns, but doesn't want to deal with the danger of owning real ones, I highly recommend these fine looking quality replicas. They are especially recommended for display if you have a situation like mine where you have a western themed room. Real guns that fire that are modeled after old west style firearms are very expensive indeed. Unless you really do enjoy owning one of these guns for real so you will able to fire it on occasion, I highly recommend you consider these replicas. They are exactly the same gun in a non firing model, and Amazon not only carries them at a much discounted price, but also carries a respectable line of other replica models worth considering.
