Galco Double Speed Loader Case Ambidextrous - Tan SSL32 Review

I purchased this Galco Double Speed Loader Case to complete the vertical shoulder holster system for my S&W 629 44 magnum. I was initially impressed with the quality of the hide used to construct the speed loader case. The leather is quite thick and sturdy. As pictured, there are two flaps at opposite ends of each pouch that contain the speed loader. The flaps are closed/opened via metal snap buttons which feel solid when closed. Here comes the bad news. The flaps will NOT snap closed with Safariland speed loaders loaded with 6 rounds of 44 magnum rounds inside the case. You can get one of the flaps snapped closed but the other will simply not reach. I would say that one flap needs about 0.25" more length and it would snap closed easily. The speed loaders fit snug inside each pouch which is great because you don't want your speed loaders clanking around inside the pouches.

On, another note, the swivels/loops are made of plastic. It is not a big deal though.

Update: Talked to customer service. The rep suggested I break it in by pulling the flap with my hands (essentially stretching the leather) until it is able to snap closed. Will update again when break in process is complete.

Update: After taking some time to stretch the leather, they finally snapped closed. Now I'm sure they will snap closed easier after some usage.
