Product Description
The Blue Springs series sleeping bags are made with MicroX+ insulation. MicroX+ Insulation consists of multiple denier staple-length fibers that have a siliconized finish for maximum insulation, loft and compactness. It is an ultra lightweight insulation that has a tremendous weight-to-warmth ratio. The Blue Springs uses a 2-layer offset construction, sometimes called a "bag within a bag." The contoured hood and mummy shape helps seal up your warmth and keep you warmer. If you choose the 35° option, you will get a second zipper that allows you to zip the bag "half open" on each side, to allow venting or sitting up, which is a neat feature. The Blue Springs is a great backpacking sleeping bag to take along on your hikes that won't take up all the space in your pack or weigh you down. I purchased this bag because I was looking for a good deal on a bag large enough for a 320 lbs. guy who likes to backpack camp. This bag fit the bill and me. I'm no weight lifter I'm more of a marshmallow but I love doing overnight hikes. I live and hike mostly in MO and AR were it might be 80 degrees one day and change to freezing pretty quickly. So I wanted a bag that was comfortable at around 35 degrees. Plus it had to fit in my 55 liter backpack. Because of its size and material it only packs down to about the size of a basketball if you really lock down the included compression bag. So its never going to fit in a bags sleeping bag compartment. It takes up about 1/3 of my 55 liter tube style backpack. Considering the price I'm actually quite happy that its that compact versus survivable temp rating. For a mummy I find it really easy to even sleep on my side.Pros: Price, Big guy sizing in the wide version, works for side sleeping, included compression bag, light weight.
Cons: Large pack down size for backpacking but workable.
