I already have four hula hoops, two of them for travel, but none that break down small enough to fit inside a carry-on. I ordered the dance size, 8-pc. collapsible. It will definitely fit inside a carry-on. It is thin but with enough heft to feel substantial. You wouldn't know that it is a collapsible hoop while it's spinning either. I am really impressed with how well-made this hoop is! The pieces fit perfectly and there has been a lot of care put into the construction and tape detailing. This is definitely the best hula hoop I've got; third time IS the charm for me with travel hoops. I can't recommend Troohoops enough!
