the interchangeable soles is obviously what makes these so great. Made right here in Oregon, so even better. I use the felt bottoms in the McKenzie and they are just fantastic. The King-On sole also provides amazing traction anywhere else I go. I tend to wear my soles down in the back right corners, so being able to simply replace them instead of the entire shoe when the times comes was a huge selling point. I get the slip resistance of felt, but can take them off when I head to any other state where I don't want to spread whatever I picked up in the McKenzie. There is no better option for a wading shoe in my opinion.
