Protec B2 SXP Helmet (X-Small, White) Review

After spending 3 hours pouring over the internet I finally found the right helmet for my son. This helmet is CPSC (bike), ATSM 1492 (skate), AND CE 1078 (Europe/UK standard) certified. It is the LINER and the SHAPE of the helmet that makes it dual (really triple) certified. Look for the SXP multi-impact liner. The difference is the bike only liner is EPS and if it takes a hit it does not 'bounce back' to its original shape to provide the same level of protection next time. The skate only is a two-stage liner that can take multiple impacts, but my understanding it gives up some impact protection to accomplish this feat. Along comes the SXP liner that gives you everything above in one liner, hence it is a true bike/skate helmet. Keep in mind: Only the ACE and the B2 models of the Pro Tec helmets have all 3 certifications (cpsc, atsm, and ce 1078 Euro/UK cert), the CLASSIC does not.

I guess the next question that comes to mind is the perhaps buying ProTec's B2 SNOW with an ATSM of 2040? I don't know because I could write a graduate research paper on all the stuff I've read in the past 3 hours and I still have questions- I think the main point is the way the helmet is cut around the head for protection and if you start removing padding to cool the snow helmet for bike/skate then you are defeating the vary purpose of buying a helmet because now you have no idea what level of protection your child has on.
